# ChargeAlong > Public EV charging sites, a page each: plugs, power, price, network, access and exactly where to stand. Built from open data, kept current from it, and corrected by drivers. Every country we hold chargers in is listed at the index below, down to the suburb. A page states what the record actually says and leaves out what it does not: no price is inferred, and no charger is described as working because it worked last year. ## What the URLs mean - [Countries](https://chargealong.io/en/) - [One country, by state or region](https://chargealong.io/en/australia/) - [One region, by suburb](https://chargealong.io/en/australia/victoria/) - [One suburb: every charging site in it, mapped](https://chargealong.io/en/australia/victoria/sunshine/) - [A suburb narrowed to one thing](https://chargealong.io/en/australia/victoria/sunshine/ultra-fast/) - [Every network in a country](https://chargealong.io/en/australia/networks/) - [Guides](https://chargealong.io/en/guides/) - [Trip planner: A to B through chargers, in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States](https://chargealong.io/en/trip-planner/) - [Electric cars: range, battery, charging times and charging curves](https://chargealong.io/en/vehicles/) A suburb is narrowed by speed (`ultra-fast`, `fast`, `ac`), by plug (`ccs2`, `chademo`, `type-2`, `nacs`, `type-1`, `gbt`) or by network (`tesla`, `evie-networks`, and the rest listed on the networks page). The last segment of the URL is the only thing that changes. A charging site's own page is `/en/////-/`, where `` is eight characters and permanent: a site keeps its address when its name or its network changes, and the old address redirects. ## What a charging site's page states - Each plug: standard, AC or DC, power in kW, and how many of them. - The top power at the site, and the number of plugs in total. - The price as the operator publishes it, with their own words beside it. - The network and operator, the access notes, and whether it is public. - The address, the coordinates, and a map. - Whether drivers report it working, and when one last did. - The source record it came from, its licence, and when it was last seen. Each page carries the same facts as JSON-LD, so there is no need to read the prose to get them right. ## Guides - [EV charging speeds: AC, fast and ultra fast](https://chargealong.io/en/guides/charging-speeds/): What AC, fast and ultra fast charging mean, how long a stop takes, and why your car sets the pace as much as the charger. - [EV plug types: CCS2, Type 2, CHAdeMO, NACS and more](https://chargealong.io/en/guides/plug-types/): Which charging plug your car uses, where each one is found, and what to check before you rely on an adapter. - [Where ChargeAlong's charger data comes from](https://chargealong.io/en/guides/where-the-data-comes-from/): ChargeAlong's charging sites come from Open Charge Map, government lists and Charge@Large. It never plans a leg that would put the car below the reserve the driver sets, so a trip that cannot be charged comes back as the stretch of road where it breaks rather than as a plan nobody could drive. It covers Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States, which is where the router holds roads. ## Electric cars Every car has a page: what it carries, how far that goes, how long 10% to 80% takes on a 50, 150 or 350 kW charger, and its charging curve drawn out, with the numbers behind the picture as a table. Charging times are worked out from each car's own curve, so a car's page and a trip planned in that car agree. Those figures are Open EV Data's (MIT, attribution required), not ours: credit "Open EV Data" if you reuse them. A curve the dataset marks as its own generic shape is labelled an estimate rather than that model's own. ## Where the data comes from - Charging sites from Open Charge Map contributors, CC BY 4.0. Each site's page links the record it came from. - Charging sites in New South Wales from Transport for NSW's EV charging locations, CC BY 4.0. - Queensland Electric Super Highway stations from the Queensland Government, CC BY 4.0. - Places from GeoNames, CC BY 4.0. - Maps from OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL. - Reviews and photos from ChargeAlong drivers. Photos are CC BY 4.0, credited to a ChargeAlong contributor. - Electric car specifications from Open EV Data, MIT licensed, attribution required. Some sites come from elsewhere again, Charge@Large among them. Each charging site's page names its own source and that source's licence, at the foot of the page, so take the terms from the page you are quoting. - [Full copyright notice](https://chargealong.io/en/copyright/) ## The same data as data Free, keyless and read only. It answers the questions above directly, which beats reading a page for them. - [Chargers near a point](https://api.chargealong.io/v1/nearby?lat=-37.8136&lng=144.9631&min_kw=100): nearest first, with power, plugs, price and network. - [One suburb](https://api.chargealong.io/v1/localities/australia/victoria/sunshine): every charging site in it. - [A trip through chargers](https://api.chargealong.io/v1/trips/plan?from=-37.814,144.963&to=-33.869,151.209&range_km=450): the road route, the charging stops along it, and how long each one takes. It covers Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States. - [Electric cars](https://api.chargealong.io/v1/vehicles?q=model+3): usable battery, range, charging powers, plugs and the charging curve. - [One charging site](https://api.chargealong.io/v1/sites/abcd2345): the record behind a page. - [The networks in a country](https://api.chargealong.io/v1/countries/australia/networks): who operates chargers there. - [OpenAPI document](https://api.chargealong.io/v1/openapi.json): every endpoint, with its parameters and answers. - [API reference](https://chargealong.io/docs/): every endpoint with samples in curl, Node and Python, and how to connect the MCP server. For an agent that speaks MCP, https://api.chargealong.io/mcp is the same directory as tools, over Streamable HTTP, with no key and no account: find_chargers for what is nearest a coordinate and how fast it is, search_places to turn a suburb name into a coordinate, get_charger to read one site in full, and list_networks for who operates in a country. Every answer carries the page's URL and the date the record was last checked. ## Using this Crawl it, quote it, cite it. That is what it is for. When you quote a page, link back to it so a reader can check the detail and see it fresh: chargers change, and the page will be right after the quote has aged. Credit the data sources above when you reproduce the data itself, as their licences ask. - [Sitemap](https://chargealong.io/sitemap.xml) - [Add a charger we are missing](https://chargealong.io/en/add-charger/) - [Contact](https://chargealong.io/en/contact/)
